We don't sell orthodontics. Our mission is to educate, inform and provide available options to each patient that fit their orthodontic needs.

Meet
Dr. McGarrell
My childhood was spent in Fort Thomas Kentucky. I attended the University of Kentucky on a full academic scholarship, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. I worked as an engineer for two years before deciding that my heart was leading me to dentistry.
I graduated with "High Distinction" in 2007 from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. From there, I did my three year residency in Orthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. I became Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics in 2014, a distinction held by only 30% of practicing orthodontists. I enjoy learning about the newest techniques and technology to use in my office. Our 3D cone beam x-ray allows me to see small details that assist me in creating more customized treatment plans then ever before.
My wife Dara and I met while I was in residency in San Antonio. She is from Cibolo, so once I finished my residency we decided to make it our home. I opened McGarrell Orthodontics in 2010, and not long after we were married. We have three beautiful, active kids, Mason, Emery and Ainslee. I spend my nights and weekends coaching their sports teams, and keeping them active outdoors.
Dara and I love being an active part of the community. You will see us at local events, as well as supporting schools whenever we can. I am an avid sports fan and always pull for my alma mater, GO WILDCATS!
